Abstract

Among insecticides, cypermethrin 25% EC @ 0.0625%, chlorpyriphos 20% EC @ 0.04% and profenofos 50% EC @ 0.04% concentration were found to be most effective, the fruit damage percentage was 4.2, 9.9 and 9.8%, respectively. The treatments with botanicals viz. garlic 30 g/liter water, neem oil 4 ml/liter and green chilli extract 10 g/liter water were also effective, resulting 7.8, 9.0 and 9.9% fruit damage, respectively, compared with control plot (21.4%). garlic 30 g/liter water was therefore, found best botanical treatment against E. vittella.
