Abstract
[Objective] Insecticidal activity of 5-isopropyl-2-methylphenol against Leucania separate in the root of Stellera chamaejasme was studied.[Method] Compound A from the root powder of S.chamaejasme was extracted, purified and identified. Its insecticidal activity against L.separate was determined.[Result] Compound A had good insecticidal activity against L.separate and its lethal concentration(LC50) after treatment for 24 h was 12.7 mg/L.[Conclusion] 5-Isopropyl-2-methylphenol was first isolated from the root of S.chamaejasme, which would lay good foundations for the research and development of new botanical pesticide.
