Abstract

This essay examines the experiences of Vietnamese American students, and to some extent professionals, during the Vietnam War years, starting from the Vietnamese revolution of 1945, which also marks the beginning of the Cold War, to the fall of the South Vietnamese government in 1975. Additionally, this essay frames questions and issues that challenge scholars to think about possibilities and potentials toward forging a Vietnamese American historiography.
