Abstract
Chick pea (cicer arietinum Lin.) is one of the important winter pulse crop in India. Among the biotic factors, gram pod borer, Helicoverpa armigera is the most important pest, attacks tender foliage, flowers and pods. Hence, the incidence, H. armigera infesting chick pea was investigated Five plots of 15 m2 were prepared during rabi seasons of 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 at Research Farm S.H.I.A.T.&S., Allahabad. For seasonal incidence, weekly observations on the appearance and population of larvae was recorded on five randomly selected plants at 7 days interval.
