Abstract

Iotonchus parabasidontus Mulvey and Jensen, 1967 was redescribed based on specimens collected from Shillong, India. This population is characterized by having females and males, 1.71–2.04 mm, 1.76–2.07 mm long respectively. Buccal cavity barrel shaped, dorsal tooth about 17–23% from the base of stoma. Oesophago-intestinal junction tuberculate, amphidelphic female genital system, thick vaginal walls with two large cuticularized pieces; tail almost filiform; well-developed caudal glands with caudal opening and males having 83–92 mm long spicules, 11–13 ventromedian supplements.
