Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during the winter seasons of 1991–92, 1992–93 and 1993–94 to study the effect of weed management on the production of rainted barley (Hordeum vulgare L) at Bajaura. Post-emergence application of isoproturon 0.75 kg + 2, 4-D amine 0.75 kg/ha (45 DAS), isoproturon 0.75 kg/ha and isoproturon 0.75 kg/ha +2, 4-D amine 0.50 kg/ha (4S DAS) and two hand weedings (4S DAS) resulted in significantly higher grain and straw yields over weedy control. Additional grain yields over control in these treatments were 11.2, 11.2, 11.0 and 7.6 q/ha, respectively.
