Abstract
SYNOPSIS This paper designs to show the procedure used in instruction of railroad personnel in the construction and maintenance of the Diesel engine used in Diesel-electric locomotives. Emphasis is placed on the design of the engine which features: (1) interchangeability of wearing parts; (2) accessibility to all parts; (3) light parts which permit easy handling; (4) supercharging, which gives ample horsepower in a comparatively small and light engine.
