Abstract
Methods were developed for the analysis of dog feces for Sr/sup 90/ and Th /sup 228/. The Sr/sup 90/ determination is an adaption of the Sr(NO/sub 3/)/ sub 2/ precipitation method to separate Sr and Ca. An initial basic precipitation separates Sr/sup 90/ from a troublesome, unidentified constituent of the samples. In the determination of Th/sup 228/, two precipitations with H/ sub 2/O/sub 2/, first at pH 2 and then at pH 9, precede the coprecipitation of Th/ sup 228/ with ceric m-nitrobenzoate. Finally, Th/sup 228/ is obtained carrier- free using an ion exchange column. (auth)
