Abstract

Operating experience has demonstrated that the calculated heat rate benefits of some double-reheat cycles can be achieved in service. Calculations show that when provided with advanced controls and integrated with a suitable boiler the unit is fully capable of meeting the cycling duty that may be required in the future of the largest and most efficient units on a system. 10 refs.
