Abstract

Modification of an electric power plant located in Ireland is discussed. Improved plant efficiency of over 50% was realized by installing a gas turbine and unfired heat recovery boiler to repower an existing 30 MW steam turbine. Output increased by 85 MW and total cost was under $270 per kW. A combined cycle diagram is included.
