Effects of human factors on cleaning and disinfection of endoscope.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of human factors on cleaning and disinfection of endoscope by comparing and monitoring the cleaning and disinfection process.METHODS Human factors were divided into three trials: the staff in the first trial who did not get the systemic training and did not pass the test for cleaning and disinfection of endoscope;the second trial refersred to the staff who got the systemic training and passed the test for cleaning and disinfection of endoscope;and the staff in the combined trial was composed of ones from both the first trial and the second trial.Totally 208 endoscopic samples from the three trials obtained on-the-spot were underwent biological tests.The data were statistically analyzed.RESULTS Ten samples were bacteria positive in the total 208 samples,and the positive rate was 11.1%.Seven samples were positive in the first trial(21.7%),and three in the combined trial(11.4%),while none in the second trial(control trial).Statistical analysis showed the significant difference between the first trial,or the third trial with the second trial respectively regarding the bacteria positive rate(P0.01).CONCLUSIONS Human factors directly affect the effects of cleaning and disinfection of endoscope.
