Abstract

The experiment on ‘Effect of various levels of IBA on rooting, growth, flower quality and yield' was conducted at College of Agriculture, Pune during 1995-96. The three levels of IBA (1000,2000 and 3000 ppm) along with control and five replications and a common treatment of two sprays of 10 ppm IBA was taken on plants after 30 and 60 days of transplanting. The treatment of IBA 2000 ppm as a quick dip method to tip cutting along with two sprays of 10 ppm IBA after 30 and 60 days of planting cuttings in main field found significantly superior over other IBA treatment and control by recording higher mimber of primary roots 920.85), maximum survival percentage (96.57%) after 30 days of planting, maximum primary (8.52) and secondary branching (19.68), early buttoning (79.28), early flowering (131.70), days to buttoning to flowering (52.21) i and flower quality in respect of diameter of flower (3.76 cm), weight often flowers (30.60 g) along with highest marketable flower yield (7.68.05 q/ha).
