Abstract
Three types of cuttings viz., terminal, middle and basal were taken from two year old geranium plants. Terminal cuttings treated with 750 ppm IBA recorded highest rooting percentage (69.99%), number of roots (8.33), root length (9.16 cm) and shoot length (23.16 cm). In respect of middle cuttings, highest rooting percentage (53.33%) was observed with ISA 1000 ppm, while maximum number of roots (7.27), root length (8.21 em) and shoot length (23.44 cm) were observed with IBA 750 ppm. In the case of basal cuttings, IBA 1000 ppm exhibited highest rooting percentage (36.66%), number of roots (3.99), root lengtli (4.94 cm), while maximum shoot length (22.66 cm) was observed with IBA 750 ppm. Thus, Pe/argonium graveolens L. can be propagated using terminal cuttings treated with IBA 750 ppm. It can also be propagated using middle and basal cuttings treated with IBA 1000 ppm during the month of January 1998.
