Abstract

Results are presented for the first time of a study of the influence of the excitation energy of the fissioning nucleus /sup 237/U in the reaction /sup 236/U(n,f) on the distributions of the fragments in mass and kinetic energy. Variations are noted in the energy dependence of E-bar/sub K/ near the fission barrier. The results are discussed in terms of existing models.
