Abstract
In 3 of its 4 major oil-producing fields, Abu Dhabi Petroleum Co. (ADPC) plans to replace all reservoir voidage by water injection. The aim is to maintain the reservoir pressure above the bubble point in all 3 fields. To do this, ADPC is expanding its water-injection capability. Two projects--one each in Asab field and in Bab field--were virtually complete at the end of last year. A dump injection scheme also is being converted to powered injection in the Bu Hasa field where injection water will be produced from source wells using gas lift. That project is expected to be complete at the end of this year. In the Sahil field, now being developed, it is planned to start water injection when reservoir pressure has declined.
