Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence of mobile genetic elements in isolates of multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli.METHODS A total of 20 strains of MDR-ECO isolated from Oct 2009 to Mar 2010 were collected,10 types of mobile genetic elements were detected by polymerase chain reaction(PCR),then the results were analyzed and partly sequenced.RESULTS A total of 6 types of mobile genetic elements were found existing among 20 isolates, namely traA,trbC,tnp513,ISEcp1,IS26 and intⅠ1.CONCLUSION Mobile genetic elements, such as conjugated plasmid, transposable element, and integron group Ⅰ,may play an important role in the multidrug-resistance of E.coli.
