Abstract
A one-dimensional hydrodynamic model has been extended to simulate the morphological dynamics of tidal inlets. Sediment transport processes within the inlet have been included together with the alongshore sediment transport entering the inlet during the flood tide. The model can predict long-term changes of cross-sections in tidal inlets as well as the response to extreme events. Some results of application of the model to the Johnstone River estuary are presented.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
