Abstract
From the n-hexane soluble fraction of the ethanol extracts of Anoectochilus roxburghii, sorghumol (1), friedelin (2), palmitic acid (3) and a mixture of sterols were isolated from the plant for the first time. The mixture consists of 24-isopropenylcholesterol, 26-methylstigmasta-5,22,25,(27) trien-3#beta#-ol, sitosterol, stigmasterol and campesterol determined by EI-MS and ESI-MS/MS spectra.Sorghumol (1) was isolated from Orchidaceae for the first time, and its NMR data were assigned by HMBC and HMQC experiments. Friedelin (2) was isolated from this genus for the first time.
