Abstract

The investigation described in this report was carried out using the Scottish Universities' Research Reactor at East Kilbride, Scotland. Reactor tests have been performed in order to investigate, after reactor shutdown, the fuel plate temperature behavior under a simulated bottom blockage of the core tanks. This simulated blockage was obtained by either returning water to partially fill the core tanks, or sealing the dump tank ventilator pipe with polythene sheeting, immediately after reactor shut down.
