Abstract
The diagnostic value of symptomatology hysterosalpinography laparoscopy and hysteroscopy was evaluated in 14 patients with primary infertility and 20 patients with secondary infertility. There was historical evidence for either tubal or uterine disease in 25 patients. Radiology revealed lesions in 14 patients. 5 patients with evidence of tubal disease had additional evidence of intrauterine pathology. Laparoscopy revealed 3 cases of tubal or uterine pathology in 9 patients with no previous suggestive history. Hysteroscopy revealed 9 adhesions 5 polyps 1 adhesions plus polyps and 1 septum in 16 patients judged radiologically normal. A protocol of investigation and management of cases of infertility utilizing hysterosalpingography as a screening tool is outlined.
