Abstract
Serviceability was identified as a key ingredient in providing the combine customer with greater satisfaction. It was recognized that serviceability of a product must occur during the initial design phase and not as an afterthought. A multi-discipline team was established to define goals and design objectives. The procedure of defining goals and design objectives at the start of the project, and monitoring throughout the project, has resulted in a product that has significant advances in serviceability. This provides the customer with increased uptime and reduced service time which results in greater value.
