Abstract

Ten representative pomegranate cv. Ganesh orchards of Bikaner district of Rajasthan were selected to study the inherent nutrient status of orchards and its impact on physicochemical characteristics of pomegranate fruits. Soils samples were collected from each orchard from 0–60 cm soil depth. The range of EC, organic carbon, N, P, K, S and Zn were 0.057 to 0.0300 sdm−1, 0.10 to 0.21%, 68.85 to 102.60 kg ha−1, 10.39 to 25.37 kg ha−1, 81.46 to 142.27 kg ha−1, 11.27 to 21.28 ppm and 0.18 to 0.49 ppm, respectively. The range of fruit weight, T.S.S., acidity, total sugars, aril percentage and juice percentage was 88.33 to 243.30g, 10.44 to 15.99 0Brix, 0.30 to 0.45%, 7.84 to 8.64%, 55.67 to 73.00% and 39.33 to 53.00%, respectively.
