A preliminary design of a one-design club racing yahct.

The basic aim of this project is to create a yacht that best fulfils the specific design brief. This brief called for a one-design racing yacht primarily for use on the south coast of Ireland but one which would be suitable for any local sailing club racing scene. It is to be sailed by a crew of four to five people, generally in typical “round the cans” type racing. It needs to be an exiting boat to sail with good racing performance in the varied weather conditions typical of the south coast of Ireland but it must not require a crew of experts. In this way the boat will appeal to sailors of varied skill levels.
