Abstract
Bulbs of onion cultivar, Kalyanpur Red Round (K.R.R.) was evaluated for plant height, umbels/plant and seed yield under different dates of planting and specings. Large bulbs (5.5-6.5 cm) produced greater number of umbels per plant leading to maximum seed yield of 8.20 q/ha -under close spacing of 45x30 cm sown on Nov. 3. However, an optimum seed yield of 7.64 q/ha can achieved, if large bulbs are planted from Oct 24 to Nov. 13 at close spacing of 45 x 30 em.
