Abstract
Experiments were conducted on effect of inoculation of three ectomycorrhizal fungi on photosynthesis, transpiration and water use efficiency characteristics of current year Quercus variabilis seedlings. The results showed that mycorrhizal seedlings had evident higher net photosynthetic rate, lower transpiration rate and improved water use efficiency than control.Inoculation of single Cortinarius sublanatus and Boletus eduis in Q.variabilis seedlings had the most significant effect on promoting photosynthesis rate(29.6% and 39.2%),decreasing transpiration rate(34.3% and 32.8%),and improving water use efficiency(103.0% and 97.9%).Effect of single inoculation was better than mixed inoculation.
