Abstract

Fourteen chemicals comprising three non-systemic fungicides, three systemic fungicides, five combi products fungicides and three inorganic chemicals were studied for their efficacy on inhibition of Aspergillus flavus producing aflatoxin in groundnut. Among all the chemicals, copper oxychloride, tebuconazole, Carbendazim 25% + Iprodione 25% showed cent per cent inhibition at all the concentrations tested, followed by hexaconazole, Mancozeb 50%+ Carbendazim 25% and propionic acid which showed cent per cent inhibition at higher concentations. Captan, carbendazim, Carboxin 37.5%+ Thiram 37.5%, Hexaconazole 4% + Zineb 68%, Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63%, were found less effective ininhibiting radial growth even at higher concentrations. Mancozeb, sodium chloride and potassium nitrate were least effective fungicides.
