Abstract

The phenotypic stability of 22 groundnut genotypes (Arachis hypogaea L.) grown during four summer seasons was estimated for yield and four yield related traits. The mean squares due to genotype x environment interaction {GEI} were highly significdnt for maturity days, plant height (em), pod number per plant and pod yield per plant (g). Linear regression and pooled deviation equally contributed towards GEl for pod yield, pod number, plant height dnd maturity days. MCAC 17051 and MC 7129 were stable for pod yield, pod number and matuTity days; EC 24375, EC 21788, Girnar-1, ASKI 9507 were stable for pod yield, pod number and plant height; ASKI 9502, TAG 24, IBKI 9502 and Improved Spanish Bunch were stable against all the tested characters. ASKI 9502, ASKI 9507, TAG 24, MC 7129 and EC 24375 were widely adapted genotypes for pod yield.
