Abstract
Among the eight foliar insecticides tested, fipronil was found to be most effective in reducing survival of moth, oviposition and larval hatching of yellow stem borer, Scirpophaga incertulas (Wlk) followed by cartap hydrochloride, chlorantraniliprole, spinosad, flubendiamide, emamectin benzoate, chlorpyriphos and monocrotophos in the order of their efficacy. All the treatments were more effective in seedling stage compared to tillering stage in greenhouse condition.
