Abstract

The method of ecological footprint was used to calculate the ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity of the Hunan Province from 1998 to 2007 years in this paper.Then the relationship between resource consumption and economic development was analyzed based on the Gray Relational Analysis Method.The results showed that: The per capita ecological footprint and ecological capacity growth have emerged in,the supply and demand of per capita ecological footprint have taken place big changes from a surplus to a deficit and gradually worsened because the rate of ecological footprint growth is higher than the ecological carrying capacity's.The meadow and water footprint associated the greatest degree with the economic development.The primary industry have greatest impact on the ecological deficit while the tertiary industry with minimal impact.
