Abstract
A field trial was conducted for four consecutive years during kharif 1995–96 to 1998–99 to evaluate the efficacy of ten different fungicides namely hexaconazole 5 EC, 0.005%, penconazole 10 EC, 0.010%, tridemorph 80 EC, 0.040%, sulphur 80 WP, 0.200%, triadimephon 25 WP, 0.025%, propiconazole 25 EC, 0.025%, dinocap 48 EC, 0.024%, thiophanate methyle 70 WP, 0.035%, carbendazim 50 WP, 0.025% and mancozeb 75 WP, 0.200% against powdery mildew, Erysiphe polygon; and cercospora leaf spot, Cercospora canescene infecting mungbean. These fungicidal treatments were applied twice on mungbean veriety ‘K 851’ at an interval of 15 days starting from the initial appearance of the diseases. All the triazoles fungicides performed better as compare to conventional fungicides. The minimum desease intensity and highest yield was registered with the application of hexaconazole closely followed by penconazole and tridemorph.
