Abstract
This project outlines a design brief for a 40’ racing yacht. The hull form has been optimised for upwind performance and the hull structure has been determined using the ABS 1994 Offshore Racing Yacht rules. The fin and bulb keel has been designed after a study into the effects of planform and section shape on windward performance. The mast and internal bulkheads has been designed from a first principles approach and a brief appraisal has been made of other aspects involved in the design of a racing yacht.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
