Abstract
A study was conducted to evaluate effective mode of application of granular insecticides viz., aldicarb 10G, carbofuran 3G, disulfoton 5G and phorate 10G against galerucid beetle (Madurasia obscurella), stemfly (Melanagromyza phaseoli), pod borer (Euchrysops cnejus) and yellow mosaic virus attacking during growth phase of Vigna radiata. The insecticides were applied @ 1.5 kg a.i./ha, by four methods namely, broadcasting before sowing, in furrows alongwith seed, in furrows below the seed and broadcasting at the time of hoeing. The application of aldicarb and carbofuran in furrows below the seed found significantly most effective in reducing the infestation of galerucid beetle, stemfly, pod borer and yellow mosaic disease up to 50 days after sowing.
