Abstract
Detailed analysis of propagating fields in an annular waveguide for application in an annular waveguide slot antenna (AWSA) is presented in this paper. Exact field distributions along with cut-off and resonant frequencies are obtained for travelling and standing wave cases and compared with rectangular waveguide. The theoretical results are verified by a single slot AWSA design, simulation and measurements at 9.3 GHz and interesting similarity is observed.
