Abstract

Studies were conducted to evaluate insecticides against leaf folder of soy-bean during 1982 and 1983 at Barapani farm. The studies revealed that the contact insecticides endosulfan and qutnalphos, systemic insecticides like phospha-midon and monolrotophos (each at 0.4 kg al/ha) and granular insecticides such as carbofuran were found most effective in controlling the soybean leaf folder. On the basis of cost of insecticides/ha, three sprays of contact insecticides or 2 sprays of systemic insecticides or one granular application of carbofuran (1.5 kg al/ha) are recommended for the control of soybean leaf folder.
