Abstract
Abstract A new multi‐domain vertical‐alignment liquid crystal display (MVA‐LCD) is developed to achieve high transmittance, high contrast ratio and wide viewing angle. According to this design, the MVA‐LCD has a high transmittance by using conventional polarizer rather than circular polarizer. Accordingly, high contrast ratio, wide viewing angle and high transmittance can be achieved for MVA‐LCD simultaneously. Potential application for mobile display is emphasized.
