Abstract
Abstract A color‐field sequential LCD using advanced OCB mode liquid crystal cell and an LED backlight has been developed. Application of a wide‐viewing‐angle‐wide‐band type circular polarizer realized a wide viewing angle and high transmittance OCB mode LC cell. This paper describes the concept of optical compensation and fundamental characteristics of advanced OCB mode LCD.
