Abstract

As a standard display interface, VGA has been widely used. According to the principle of VGA display, the paper designs a VGA image controller based on SOPC technology. This design discards the special-chip which for VGA display and uses Nios II soft-core processor as the system control module. By programming Nios II soft-core processor, DMA control module and VGA display control module on one FPGA chip, the system is fully implemented. The construction of VGA display system by this method is small, power loss low, reliable and can be applied to many occasions.
