Preliminary study on Dermanyssoidea fauna in China.

Objective To study the fauna of Dermanyssoideae in China.MethodsBased on the literature and some field investigation on Dermanyssoidea fauna, the fauna of Dermanyssoideae were analyzed.Results356 species and 47 genera in Dermanyssoidea had been reported in China up till now, among which 153 species were mainly distributed in the Palaearctic Region (accounting for 42.98% of the total) while 144 species in the Oriental Region (40.45% of the total). There were 59 species distributed in both the Palaearctic Region and the Oriental Region (16.57%).ConclusionThe gamasid mite species in Palaerctic Region are more than those in the Oriental Region, probably resulting from that most literatures on gamasid mite taxonomy and fauna maily come from the studies and investigation in Palaerctic Region while few taxonomic reports from Oriental Region.
