Performance analysis of an optical burst switching (OBS) network

Abstract

This paper presents a burst loss rate (BLR) scheme suitable for slotted optical burst switched networks. An analytical model for burst loss rate is presented. The effect of several design parameters on the above performance measure is examined with the aid of simulations. The model results are found to be satisfactory agreement with the expected results.
