Abstract

A description is given of a project with respect to telecommunications research in three African countries together with three European countries. The research concerns the modelling of attenuation by tropical rain on microwave radio paths. During this three year project, data are gathered on rain rate; modelling of the satellite propagation channel will be carried out and educational activities will be undertaken.
