Abstract
There have been many maturity models constructed based on CMM in the past to alleviate the shortage of quality standard in education. Among the various maturity models, some are process improvement models used by higher education to support online course design and curriculum design for Information system education, while others are process improvement models for other areas such as e-learning. This paper presents two maturity models that are used to support quality design process of curriculum for higher education. The models are studied in terms of their purpose, structure, maturity levels, key process areas, best practices, strengths and limitations. This study also looks at the goal of each maturity level, how maturity level is achieved before the next level is attained. It is hoped that this study will provide a clearer understanding of how CMM is used to support quality design process of curriculum design domain in order to increase quality standard in higher education.
