Abstract

Abstract The literature on electrophoresis in gels is reviewed, and own experiments are reported. The electroendosmotic effect in the electrophoresis of proteins in agar gel is inhibited by the use of agar gels containing gelatinized starch. However, the effect cannot be eliminated completely. The most suitable starch concentration was found to be 2%.
