Abstract
High voltage bushing is a key electric accessory. A new methodology on monitoring bushing insulation defect is put forward in this paper according to existing problems of bushing insulation defects monitoring. This methodology uses the bushing transient voltage and current (from normal operating system or other faults caused) as information source, acquires the monitoring and diagnostic discriminant function of bushing insulation defects, and diagnoses the bushing insulation defects according to the maximum of the discriminant function. The methodology in this paper will help developing better the monitoring techniques of high voltage bushing.
