Abstract
The theoretical possibility of producing a CSSB (compatible single-sideband) wave by phase amplitude modulation with a predistorter before the phase modulator is discussed. The rule for achieving good one-sideband suppression is examined. It is argued that adequate lower-sideband suppression of a CSSB wave can be achieved by a phase-amplitude modulation system with a predistorter.>
