Abstract

Water stress affects different growth and developmental stages of mungbean. Adequate amount of water should be applied at the right time in order to get higher crop yield in irrigated land. In order to find out the effect of irrigation on yield and yield attributes of mungbean cv. BINA mung-5, an experiment was conducted at the Agronomy Field Laboratory of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh during October 2011 to February 2012. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design with four replications. The trial comprised seven treatments. Yield and yield contributing characters like number of pods plant -1 , pod length, number of seeds pod -1 , weight of seeds pod -1 , mean seed weight and seed yield were found statistically significant.
