MPOA-based ATM-LAN internetworking system

Abstract

MPOA (multiprotocol over ATM) is a combined mechanism of LANE (LAN emulation) and NHRP (next hop resolution protocol) in an ATM networking environment. This mechanism acquires the benefits of both LANE and ATM virtual circuit connections so that it can provide efficient inter-subnet data transmission over the LANE environment. This paper describes an MPOA-based ATM LAN internetworking system under implementation.
