Abstract

You know already that writing professional scientific literature requires you to develop your basic writing skills beyond the level you achieved in preprofessional education. And you undoubtedly can agree that developing your professional writing skills is possible through a continuum of experiences. Such experiences, for example, can range from beginning with manipulation of standardized information in a simple format to advancing by presentation of complex data and concepts in a scholarly and creative manner. But have you reflected on the writing skills you have, those skills you will need to accomplish your goals, and the steps to take in your plan for development? Just as your practice career development needs attention for an analysis and a plan of action, your professional writing career needs evaluation and objectives.
