Abstract
A woven convolutional encoder for a partial response channel (magnetic recording channel) is constructed by combining convolutional encoders and an MTR encoder. We use the MTR encoder for the partial response channel as an inner convolutional encoder, We show that this combination enhances the capability of correcting errors for the PR channel.
