Abstract Successful inoculation of Caragana arborescens has been achieved using an inoculum derived from nodules of a North American (Wisconsin) ecotype of C. arborescens . Pea‐shrub is being investigated for revegetation use in the semi‐arid areas of Central Otago, New Zealand.
