Abstract

The latest member of a long series of computer programs for the optimization of optical designs is described. The various features of this program and its advantages over earlier versions are listed, with more detailed accounts of the improved methods for the control of boundary conditions and the treatment of variable glasses. Applications of the program to the design of real systems and to research into general lens design problems are noted.
